LANXESS Young Euro Classic China Concerts 2010
In 2010, Young Euro Classic is again organizing concerts for the Young Euro Classic Festival Orchestra China – Germany. In 2010 the orchestra is conducted by the renowned maesto Gerd Albrecht. For the fourth year, LANXESS AG is the exclusive partner in this beacon project that creates an orchestra out of young German and Chinese musicians and sends them on tour to China itself. The selection of compositions from Germany and China is also bi-national.
Equal Exchange
In 2010, this equal exchange takes the orchestra to Shanghai for a joint rehearsal phase. The orchestra will deliver the first musical manifestations of this fusion at an opening concert in the mega metropolis of Nanjing. The next major concert is set for 18 May at the Shanghai Concert Hall and then – in the form of a smaller ensemble – to an official appearance as part of the cultural programme on German National Day at the EXPO in Shanghai. This looks set to be yet another feather in the cap of this ground-breaking project, as the musicians will be playing in the presence of Germany’s Federal President Horst Köhler.
LANXESS Young Euro Classic China Concert 2009
The LANXESS Young Euro Classic China Concert 2009 comes following celebrated concerts in the previous two years. Expectations are high ahead of this year’s event, which is about more than musicians from China and Germany simply playing alongside one another. The Young Euro Classic Festivalensemble China – Germany is characterized by a deep sense of togetherness. From the first meeting of the musicians, through the rehearsal phase to the grand finale, something the youngsters are only too keen to work hard for – a concert in Beijing.
LANXESS China Tour 2007 / 2008
In the summer of 2008 the Young Euro Classic Festival Orchestra and its Grammywinning conductor Muhai Tang headed off for a second “LANXESS China Tour” that included two spectacular sold-out concerts in Beijing and Shanghai. The Chinese-German ensemble performed one of the concerts in the Forbidden City Concert Hall in Beijing – the only joint German-Chinese contribution to the official Olympic cultural program.
A year earlier, on the “LANXESS China Tour 2007”, the Young Euro Classic Festival Orchestra Germany – China had already performed a concert attended by Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao and German Chancellor Angela Merkel in a special event celebrating the 35th anniversary of German-Chinese relations. "A wonderful project", Angela Merkel and Wen Jiabaoagreed at the time.
