Dr. Dieter Rexroth
Dieter Rexroth is considered one of the most creative minds on the German music scene. From 1996 to 2001, he was the Artistic Director of the Rundfunkorchester und Chöre GmbH and the Deutsches Symphonie Orchester in Berlin, in which capacity he engaged the conductor Kent Nagano – now world-famous – whose concert programs he still designs. In addition, Dieter Rexroth has been Artistic Director of Young Euro Classic since its founding in 2000, which makes him one of the fathers of this extremely successful festival which takes place for the 13th time in 2012. Important stages of his career were the directorship of Frankfurt’s Paul Hindemith Institute and positions as dramaturge and chief programmer for the Alte Oper Frankfurt, the “Frankfurter Feste” (1986 to 1994) and the Foundation Schloss Neuhardenberg for several years. Since 2006, Dieter Rexroth has also been the Artistic Director of the “Kasseler Musiktage”.
