Youth State Orchestra of Armenia

The Youth State Orchestra of Armenia was founded in 2006 by Sergey Smbatyan as the orchestra of the Komitas State Conservatory in Eriwan. In 2008, it was awarded the status of a publicly funded youth orchestra. It is made up of music students from the conservatory and can already boast artistic joint projects with prominent musicians such as Valery Gergiev, Vadim Repin, Vladimir Spivakov and Boris Berezovsky. The chamber orchestra’s repertoire is very varied and places a strong focus on the work of Armenian composers.
