Total immersion into the world of music for four weeks – that is what the NJO (National Jeugd Orkest) offers young, talented musicians, through various musical activities. The NJO Summer Academy focuses on curiosity and musical adventures. About 140 students participate in the Academy every year. They are recruited from music academies all over Europe via auditions. These young talents are invited to work with famous teachers and conductors, developing their abilities in symphony orchestras, classical chamber music ensembles on historic instruments, in contemporary music ensembles and even in opera projects. The NJO Summer Academy already performed at Young Euro Classic in 2011, receiving roars of applause for Rossini’s opera Il signor Bruschino.
