Even in the first years of its existence, the Moritzburg Festival Academy has attained an outstanding reputation as an international, innovative and creative musical “workshop”. Every year, after undergoing a rigorous selection process, about 40 highly talented music students from all over the world, aged 16 to 26, are invited to Moritzburg. The granting of full scholarships gives the participants the opportunity to work with renowned musicians of the international music scene, regardless of their social background. Under the supervision of Festival artists like Jan Vogler, Alban Gerhardt and Lise Berthaud, the students rehearse orchestral and chamber music works and present these to a broad and discerning audience in their concerts.
