International


Cédric Pescia – Switzerland

Cédric Pescia, who was born in Lausanne in 1976, studied first in his hometown, later in Geneva and Berlin under Klaus Hellwig, and at the International Piano Academy at Lake Como (Italy). In 2002 he won one of the world’s most prestigious piano prizes, the “Gina Bachauer International Artists Piano Competition” in Salt Lake City, in competition with 500 other pianists from 40 different countries. That success led to concerts across Europe, South America and the US, as well as many festival appearances in Paris, Antwerp, Zurich and Prague. In his CD recordings Cédric Pescia has taken on the challenge of a wide range of works, including compositions by Couperin, Bach, Schumann, Busoni and Enescu.



Christian Chamorel – Switzerland

Born in 1979, Christian Chamorel received his initial musical training in his hometown of Lausanne before studying under Margarita Höhenrieder and Gerhard Oppitz in Munich, where he earned his Master Class Diploma in 2004. In 2006 he received a Soloist Diploma at the Zurich Music Academy under the supervision of Homero Francesch. Alongside his activities as a soloist and chamber musician, Christian Chamorel also regularly plays as an accompanist for singers such as Ruth Ziesak, Christian Gerhaher, Ann Murray, Christoph and Stephan Genz. Christian Chamorel has won many international piano competitions, including the Maria Canals Competition, the Supportive Prize Competition of the Munich Concert Society, and the “Concorso Internazionale Palma d’Oro”. His first two CD recordings featured works by Franz Liszt.

 

Mizuka Kano – Japan

Mizuka Kano, who was born in 1978, graduated from the Toho Gakuen Music High School at the Toho Gakuen College in Tokyo She later studied at Berlin’s University of the Arts under Klaus Hellwig. Mizuka Kano already has an impressive record of solo and chamber music concerts in Japan, Germany, Italy, the UK, Austria and the US, playing with orchestras that have included the Moscow Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Pasadena Philharmonic Orchestra (California). She has also won many awards such as the first prize at the G.B. Viotti International Competition in Vercelli/Italy in 2005 and at the 15th Robert Schumann Competition in Zwickau in 2008.
