TEMPESTUOUS KEYBOARDS, WILD AND TENDER!
Young Euro Classic Piano Festival
.
Welcome
to the Young Euro Classic Piano Festival! It is a separate festival within the festival, a very special day in the middle of Young Euro Classic. For the fourth time, winners of first prizes at international piano competitions have been invited to create a whole day under the sign of the keyboard. The young pianists present themselves in concerts of one hour each with their favourite pieces, which they perform for the audience in breath-taking interpretations.
The piano capital
Until World War II, Berlin was an Eldorado for piano music. Every pianist made his way and his career via the central station of Berlin. Here, concerts boasted wildly enthusiastic audiences. Private concerts at the Prussian Court and private recitals hosted by important families like the Mendelssohns could be another decisive step towards a career as a pianist. Young Euro Classic would like to revive this grand piano tradition in Berlin. The public’s fascination with piano performance has grown steadily during the past years – a decisive factor for this development is the young talent arriving from almost all corners of the world. When you listen to pianists from the USA and Switzerland, from Canada, South Korea and Bulgaria at the Young Euro Classic Piano Festival on August 5, you will notice all the different ways in which these artists contribute to the growing fascination with this instrument.
Surprising novelties, unknown familiarities
Thus, the pianistic panorama is as broad as possible: it ranges from the great Partitas of the baroque master J. S. Bach to the passionate Argentine Dances by Ginastera, from Schumann’s romantic Children’s Scenes to bagatelles by the young German composer Tobias PM Schneid. Follow five award-winning talents on their journeys of discovery through the pianistic cosmos. Let yourself be surprised by novelty – and rediscover familiar works anew!
